Kaisha Mercado, BA, M.Ed
Kaisha was born and raised in Camden, NJ. She attended all Camden City Public Schools, including Henry L. Bonsall Family School and Camden High School class of 2004.
After graduating from Camden High School, Kaisha went on to receive her B.A in Child Drama from Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ in 2008. In 2011 Kaisha’s daughter was diagnosed with cancer, which pushed her to learn more about children with disabilities. In 2012 Kaisha went on to pursue her in education to become an advocate for her daughter Anniyah. Kaisha attended and received her Master’s in Special Education from Grand Canyon University in 2014.
Kaisha returned to the city of Camden to pursue a career in education. She was a substitute teacher, Pre-K - 7th grade teacher for CCSD for 4 and a half years, and is currently a teacher at KIPP Whittier Middle in Camden, NJ. Kaisha has a passion for helping children with special needs and behavioral disorders.
Kaisha is also a member of Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society in Education.
Kaisha is the COO of the Nathaniel R. Plummer Foundation LLC. A foundation geared to help children who are overlooked academically due to behavioral problems.
She enjoys serving families in need, a variety of hobbies, and spending time with family.
Kaisha is the mother to a beautiful little girl Anniyah. She’s my motivation to make a change within the community.
